Gold Anodised Aluminium SWB

Anyone have any theories on this Gold Staybright (A/A) South Wales Borderers badge? Same size as a standard cap badge but with unusual lug fittings!

My thoughts are a belt or pouch fitting?

Andy can't help, looks from the photos as though the lugs are an integeral part of the badge i.e folded in the pressing process????
Is that so or do I need new specs?
Cheers Tony.

I remember seeing something like this in the Brecon's local badge shop run by Bernie when I was serving there. Is it a museum badge?

Gaz,
Bernie Duffield, God rest him! The early source of the best part of my collection!

I doubt if it is a Museum item, they are quite "Tacky" and nowhere near as well made. I still think it's a pouch fitting of sorts?

The only lugs that i can think of that bear any similarity to those are the ones that you find on the Highland Bde bonnet badge.

As to the purpose of the badge,i dont have a clue.

I recall Peter Taylor mentions an all gold SWB badge in his book.I took this to mean that it was a manufacturing error of the normal cap badge.

An old thread but the fixing are those of a badge produced for the initial trial of a/a badges along with the RAOC badge.

Ive actually seen an example of this badge. It was with the RAOC badge that Alan mentions. Id assume that this example was one that was produced as a trial version along with the 1st pattern KC RAOC.
