Hi,
I have more or less given up on eBay and trawl through dealers websites instead. I need another one of these badges, how about this one, it has none of the features that I have been warned about. Is it a good one, at £18, it does seem reasonably priced?

Chris,
It looks good to me.

That's great, Rob, would it be pushing my luck to add one of these, while I'm at it?

Suffolk Foreign Service badge

Chris,
It depends what the seller wants for it, I have looked at my two on my phone and I have one with voided oak leaves and one solid oak leaves.

This badge has been copied, so I would err on the side of caution.

Okay then, Rob, I'll put that one on the back burner for now, I have bought the brass economy badge, at £18, it seems quite reasonable, I often see them for nearly twice that.

Suffolk Foreign Service badge

Chris, don't take my word for as being dodgy, how much is the badge?

They are not particularly scarce and the pin looks as though it has some age, so it may be OK.

The Suffolk Regt "all brass" badge WO defined as 4565B/1916 - in April 1916, the WO asked for 15,000.

Many thanks, Julian, I've got one of quite a few, then! I couldn't find the badge to start with, Rob, as you said, there's a few of them. Anyhow, it's on a website called The Quartermasters Store, and he's asking £85 for it, how does that sound?

Sonofacqms 26-11-20 09:58 PM

Expensive!

Why not ask him, he is a member of this forum, are you talking about the badge in post one or post three?

This is an original Victorian era Suffolk Regiment pagri albeit with a damage to the cross on the crown.

They have been copied with lugs. The pin is the correct fitting.

Well now, this is not the badge that I'm looking at, the dealers website is called The Quartermaster's Store, and there are two of these badges shown. The one that I am looking at has Code 60967 on it, and the other example has sold on it, neither example has any damage that I can see.

That's my badge for you to compare to the one for sale......

Ah, sorry, Alan, I got my wires crossed there !
