Kevin, I have seen the left hand badge worn by SJA trained nurses. That one is a real beauty too. There is one presentation that says BRCS nurses who trained at SJA wore this badge on a long chain from their waist belt. I've only seen one picture of this however, so can't say how widespread it was.

bottom line, I believe the badge is for a nurse who received her training by the SJA.
