Ladies in the Honorable Horse Artillery

Saw this picture of 4 ladies in the HRA and just thought it was a very cool picture. Had not thought about girls in this unit before. Gotta love that uniform!!! The white plume on the busby is a surprise as I would have expected red.

I do recall that at some point not long ago either the OC or the BSM was female. And having Kings.Troop RHA on the CV wouldn't look too shabby.
I'm sure somebody will enlighten us with regards to the white plume .

Terry,

More correctly titled The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

Female soldiers have formed a significant part of this unique unit for quite some time.

Women first admitted to the King's Troop in 1996.

Major Erica Bridge became C.O of King's Troop RHA in 2007 , she had previously served as Adjutant in 2001.

Thanks for that link Tim. What guts, what fortitude! Certainly a role model for our Sisters in Arms. Nay, for our Brothers too! D.J.

Yes, I incorrectly referred to them as the HHA, They are correctly the Kings Troop. So, I have learned here as I thought they were one in the same. You really can teach an old dog new tricks!!!

Thank you,

Terry

I think you may be confusing the Royal Horse Artillery and the Honourable Artillery Company :)

And of course we have ladies in the Honourable Artillery Company...
