Hello . A couple of buttons we're not sure of .
Union Jack button has no makers stamp on back, 23mm diameter.
Button with Lion , might be Canadian , couldn't find it in Smylie
book,Gaunt/Montreal, about 25mm diameter .
Thanks.
Robert.

Belgian Army lion buttons have evolved over time. The current button is high concave and has a smooth lion, paws not claws and no rim.
The Belgian WWI buttons are low concave, the lions had claws and came fully equipped. These buttons have rims.
Attachments are a Belgian army WWI lion and a current design.

This lion has its claws out, high concave and no rim. I have seen it listed as Veterans Home Guard of Canada.

The forum has a thread mentioning Canadian Veteran organisations:

This link shows the badge for the Veterans Guard of Canada. It is similar to your button.

This link also deals with the two names: First styled as “Veterans Home Guard,” mimicking the “British Home Guard,” were authorised May 24th 1940, by G.O. 261 / 1940, renamed the Veterans Guard of Canada.

The flag button is a patriotic button, not a uniform button.

I would agree with btns. The button is for the Veterans Guard of Canada, 1940-1947. It is listed in Smylie as C19.

Button ID solved

Thank You for the help .
Veterans Guard of Canada , Smylie pg#20 , C-19 . Oops . Missed that .
Patriotic button would be purchased in a retail store to be sewn on a
garment of choice ?
