Hi Pavo
This is the South African section. You will probably get more chance of an educated reply if you post in the British 'General Topics' section.
Good luck with your research.
Cheers,
Alex

You should be on sagongs, the South Asia gongs forum. devoted only to medals. There are several experts there on the Indian Army including Pakistani members , but doesn't the regimental history provide any answers???

Hi,
A book by Gajendra Singh 'The Testimonies of Indian Soldiers and the Two World Wars - Between Self and Sepoys' may be helpful with personal accounts.

HI PAVO,
The person to contact would be the author of Izzat -Historical Records and Iconography of Indian Cavalry Regiments 1750-2007-Ashok Nath. He is not on the forum but he can be contacted via the Stockholm University website or via the USI of India. Rgds Piffer
