Indian Pioneers and Miners badge?

recently bought as a Madras Pioneers cap badge but it is quite evident that it refers to some other Indian Pioneer formation: just wondering which! Any hints, gents? Thank you in advance!

I suspect that the 'truncated' elephant [sorry!] will be the key to identification but otherwise no idea. Perhaps Jind State? Apparently not Patiala.
