Good Evening Everyone......

Just thought I would post a picture on my latest find.....

As you know I am not really a badge collector so as far as I know this is authentic.....

It was purchased from an estate with a Stetson, Sam Brown and a couple of other odds and sods.....

I looked in the reference book, Uniforms of the Canadian Mounted Police by Boulton and it is mentioned there and a few photos but with a shinny badge and as you can see this is muted.....

Comments welcome.....

Oh yes..... Inside there is a label Buffalo Cap, ????? "7" ?????, Winnipeg, 1942.

Mike

Hello Everyone.....

I have just been advised that the badge could be Figure 7-20 from Don Klancher's book on the insignia of the Canadian Mounted Police.....

Mike, are there. Buttons at the front of the wedge cap?

Can you post pics of the Sam Browne?

Mike, Do you have a name? No 1 Cdn Provost Coy was made up of RCMP volunteers. They wore the RCMP cap badge throughout the war.

Sorry Bill no name in the cap but along with it I got a bunch of Quarterlies and was told that the Grandfather is mentioned in them..... I got them last weekend and to he honest forgot to ask the name.....

My Mother who I am afraid is now suffering with Alzheimer's worked with them in CMHQ during the war and after coming here was with the force for 25 years..... She had a number of stories that she told over and over again including about a number of members commandeering a double decker bus as a vehicle to move a wedding party and all the guests......

Mike, Have you had a look at the back of the badge? There was a contract for RCMP kc badges let in the UK early in the war. As well, the members of No 1 Provost went overseas with RCMP cap badges and embroidered shoulder titles reading RCMP.

Good Morning Bill......

I have not taken the badge off, the pins have been bent at the tips and I do not want to try in case I damage it but I cannot see anything on the bottom.....
