I was told this but it is wall mounted and very difficult to get off. I will see what I can do when I manage to get an extra pair of hands to assit. Thank you

Looks to be a 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards officers helmet plate. Very nice item.

A very nice looking badge indeed! I hope you like them and keeping together or are you after finding out about them and then selling on? Look forward to seeing your other badges if this is attached to a frame?
All the best billy

Thank you

I have seen that on the net but the enameling is a dark blue and the background is a very light blue, not white. Could this be a different variation ? Thank you for your help. there are 500-600 on a wall mounted frame. I not sure if this is the thread to post them all on ? I think my Father would come back and throttle me if I sold them.

Everyone on here would love to see them! You will also be given lots of advice and information on the badges, and where to find out about them, if posted on wrong section it will be moved to correct one! All the best billy

Nice biiiig Fusilier Brigade fur cap grenade in the middle there.......

gg12bazentin 13-04-20 01:38 PM

It is hessian and they are attached using their own fixings through small punctures

gg12bazentin 13-04-20 01:41 PM

That must be one I have yet to identify, I assume it is the one above the Irish Dragoon ?

leigh kitchen 13-04-20 01:51 PM

Yes, the large grenade, a heavy badge of gilt and white metal, the crest being attached by screw posts and circular nuts.
It was identified by Graham Stewart as a Fusilier Brigade fur cap grenade from photographs of Royal Fusiliers Drummers wearing it.
