Theatre Made Wings? How about Not Theatre Made Wings...

Saw this denim battledress jacket on ebay. Pretty unusual looking construction to the wings, as if they were painted with a stencil; not having seen this on older badges I wonder would it be a form of epoxy mixed with dye. Comments and education on the wings as well as the shoulder title and Pegasus please.

Agree on the para title, did not know about the wings or the peggy but had a vague recollection about the wings. I wonder what date is on the denim blouse, it is late war austerity pattern, possibly post war. And of course only one early type parachute title on one arm and only one peggy on the other is just wrong even if they had been period correct.

A put together all the same

Not necessarily theatre made wings...how about Belgian rubber embossed wings

I figured out most of the wing question.

Reference: "Parachute Badges and Insignia of the World" by RJ Bragg & Roy Turner:
a. plate 33, Item 451; and
b. page 176, description of plate 33.

The wings are Belgian "plastic impressed" wings. Belgian "A" wing with the little man under canopy.

Construction (ref b) "...also a process of impressing plastic in relief on to felt or Vinyl is used.".

So despite what the seller claims,

This is nothing to do with WWII and nothing to to with Britain..!

Hmmm

General lack of knowledge by many sellers

As per Ebay Seller's Standard Operating Procedure #1:
Item must be placed for a quick sale, regardless of casualties.
