Hello
Can anybody ID the producer of WW2 Polish Army in Exile silver badge marked like this: Attachment 183883 ? M and G in diamonds. SIL = SILVER I guess. Thanks Rafal |
An image of the whole badge might be helpful.
Rgds, Thomas |
Hi Rafal,
I don't think SIL is a mark that is/was used in the UK and it's likely to be of Continental Europe origin. Paul |
Thank you Paul!

No more ideas?

But don't the Germans use a number marking systen, like 800 and 925? I may be wrong on this, but given that it is Polish I would look at Palestine. I assume that the Yiddish word for silver would be derived from the German. Maybe all will be revealed when we see what this item is? |
Please post a picture of the whole badge. That would help enormously.
Thanks |
Please post a picture of the whole badge. That would help enormously. Polish Army in Exile (PSZ) had badges made in many places. PAF - Polish Air Force mostly UK made with some early ones in France. 1st Corps mostly UK made with some early ones in France. 2nd Corps - Palestine, North Africa and Italy.
Seeing the whole badge will help narrow it down. A lot of research has been done on PSZ regalia so it should be fairly easy to get you an answer. Thanks |

Does it help? :) |
No opinion from Gary J. yet Rafael?
A para badge - right up his street. |
I didn't. But it's rather a matter of particular manufacturer of the badge.
