Permission to come on board ?
Hello All Hands, from sunny south of France ...
I will be pleased to share some infos with this forum ; I am collecting cap badges designed for all people working at sea ; that is to say : - military navies from the entire world - merchant marine compagnies - auxiliary services and shore based activities (pilots, schools, aso ...) - all periods (from the invention of the naval cap !) this collection was started about 30 year ago when I lived in Paris, with some success in the flee markets - followed some years of lethargy after my move to Marseilles - and a recent rebirth of the collection thanks to internet ! Needless to say that I have not finished my quest ! However, be assured that my British corner is well supplied and again, I would be happy to share these matters ... Anchor's aweigh ? |

WELCOME, If you use ebay I entered OFFICER BADGES into the search and I came across quite a lot of Merchant Marine cap badges.
You may find some you require there :) p.s. If you look at the Royal Navy threads, I have a couple there about the ADMIRALTY FIRE FORCE and COPENACRE FIRE PATROL ROYAL NAVY. Cab you help?/ |

Thanks for your warm welcome ! About ebay, I keep a reasonable watch on navy & marine badges and I guess I have located this lot of Merchant Marine items from 'tommys308' But I have a problem with this kind of 'repro industry' !!! this matter should be developped in a future post ... anyway, thank you for info ! About your proposition, do you have pics of these badges ? All the best |
alco, If you send me your email I will send pictures to you. I cannot put one of them here due to copy right.:)

I guess I have located your posts related to these badges : - http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=12536 - http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=12537 So I've seen the pics : thank you for your offer, but for now these badges are at the edge of my collection as I specialized in hand embroidered badges. However, I do have some metallic badges if they came in a lot or if nothing else is available ... (hope my english is understandable ;)) a+ |

Thank you for your friendly welcome. How to find the navy specialists ? and how many are you then ? Else, I hope to have time and opportunity to show my danish corner ... a+ |
hi,
I don't know exactly how many we are, but less than 10 I guess (might be wrong here). I think some of them will come forward if you have related questions or unidentified badges. My main areas are the Danish Navy, Royal Navy and USNavy. Great Dane |

Hello Mates,
My last post was in end 2011 and I had to disconnect for a long period of relegation in an ex-yugoslavian shipyard ! After that, I was terribly busy as part of the supporting-team of a new-building (every new ship is an adventure but especially a croatian one ;-)) Since then, my silence was the result of my legendary laziness !! As my interest for the collection remained intact, I humbly request again permission to share informations from time to time with your noble assembly. Many thanks and all the best … Alco ......o|-} |
Yes please.
Carry on. Ex RN myself but working on WWI infantry badges at the moment. You'll have a wealth of knowledge and assistance here. Simon |
