A speculative ebay buy. Can anyone id this 'C M C' shoulder title? Its purple embroidery on khaki cloth the construction very similar to WW1 titles in my collection.

Kind regards

Mark

Hi, can't confirm it, but the Transvaal Cycle and Motorcycle Corps wore a CMC metal shoulder title and could have also had a cloth title. This was 1909-1914. Regards Andrew

Some evidence as seen in Regimental devices of South Africa by HH Curson 1954.

Kind regards

Very nice indeed and really quite scarce, a lovely example, typical Transvaal Volunteer Force.
