Not the greatest quality image in the world, but I thought this might be of interest to the KRRC buffs:

Photographer's stamp on reverse says; 'Hilda M. Paul, 86, Regent Street, Blyth'.

If only the photographers were badge collectors - "Look straight at the camera, turn your body to the left and roll your shoulder towards me..."

If only Phil,

Peter, Dean, and I were saying just that whilst viewing this photo yesterday at Bromley.

A great image Peter and the first time that I have seen an image of these KRR slip ons being worn.

Thanks for sharing it.

Every picture tells a story as they say and it's nice to see this one proving that not all cloth 'Rifles' titles were in the usual black or red lettering. No KRR units were based in Blyth, so think he's probably just a local lad having his photo taken.

Thanks for the comments, gents. Would anyone care to hazard an approx/near date for this one?

I would say 1915, as he still has the stiffened early version of the SD cap. Cloth shoulder titles were issued as early as that to meet the surge in demand that initially could not be met by the manufacturers of brass S/Ts.
