"Lest We Forget"
Just watched the Festival Of Remembrance , will be off to Cenotaph in the morning.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." |
Remember that they gave their tomorrows so we could have our today’s.
Lest we forget. |
Lest we forget.
I just came back from the Remembrance Day service in Sydney CBD. Mick |
Weather was good , large crowd and so many proud men , women and children marching past the Cenotaph.
Most touching moment was when 3 Chindits veterans were helped out of their wheelchairs so that they could 'march' past the monument. |

In France, a very important day. In the Village I live in, which is small, they read out the names of every person from the village killed from WW1 onwards.
I will follow up with a few pics of the local military who attended for anyone interested. I know precious little of French insignia, but I understand these are Engineers from the nearest Army base, which is in Nîmes. Lest we forget |

Sorry, don't know why they got turned sideways |
Hi Tim
Great photos! All well with you? Somewhere I have a photo (from 1982!) of two CRS guys in the Champs Elysees on either 14 July or 11 November. Standing side-by-side, one is a slightly built guy, the other a real planet. Made me think of Laurel and Hardy... |
