The first is the 11th ALH (Victorian Mounted Rifles) badge worn 1900 -12 and, following the changes post the Great War, the second is the 11th ALH (Queensland Mounted Infantry) badge worn 1930 -42.

Up The Aussies!

:DWhat a delight! Aussie light horse badges, many I have never seen before, many thanks "chrisr" for the great display. Bring em on. Military badges honoring indigenous animals are always my favorites.

Bagpipes and BC,

Many thanks for your comments. Currently my principal collecting area is British OR cap badges 1898 - present. They are all the ALH badges I have at present; collected in the 1960's- 70's. ALH badges very expensive these days. I have a much larger collection of Australian infantry and RAAC badges.

BC very nice badges - both are of the 1900 -12 period.

Cheers
Chris

Nice badges Chris - I have some more on my website in the Light Horse area - www.australian-armour.com if anyone is interested.

I have listed each unit's badge (where I can find a picture) on each units page.

There will also be a Light Horse badges and insignia area for each unit.
