I agree with Bess.

The Mons base doesn’t seem as fat as the photo where it looks positively wedge-like.

Some of the units the Wessex Regiment was formed from included RA regiments - would RA (as opposed to Yeomanry) collar badges have continued in wear by some sub unit's of the Wessex Regiment?

My original thought, as posted, was Wessex.
Simply because of the solid tablet at the bottom.
I thought the Wessex badge was brought out in 1958, so the coronation in 1953 puts it 5 years too early?

I think the picture is from a later date, if you look at my picter of the route map Guards are in the mall RA is pall mall, st James Street and piccadilly, I was hoping the book gave regiments positions rather than just infantry and lists of brigades.
