Australian Army Aviation Ground Crewman Aircraft Support (GCAS) Trade Patch
 

In July 2019, Chief of Army authorised the introduction of a trade qualification badge to recognise the unique employment category of ECN164, Ground Crewman Aircraft Support (GCAS).

The vital role of this trade is to arm and refuel the aviation fleet to ensure aircraft are sustained and protected. The diamond shape of the badge represents the international hazardous substance symbol. Depicted on the badge is a stylistic representation of a helicopter beneath which is an aviation blue boomerang with the abbreviation GCAS. The boomerang demonstrates the helicopter always returns for sustainment.
