Rising Sun Badge - Unusual Makers Marks

2 Attachment(s)
Picked this Rising Sun badge up this week - slightly indistinct makers mark but I can make out what appears to be the wording "ENDSEN MELB". Anyone seen this maker before ? Badge will be up for sale once the makers mark has been positively identified.

Thanks in advance

I think Stokes made badges in The Great War, as did Lambourne and Tiptaft in the UK. I would be interested if anyone could state other makers producing the Rising Sun badge in The Great War. Regards, Paul.

As far as I know these makers only produced RS hat badges & collars in WW1.
GAUNT UK, TIP TAFT UK, LAMBOURNE UK, JENNINGS (J &Co) UK.

Badges and titles marked STOKES & SONS are WW1 and badges marked STOKES MELBOURNE or MELB are WW2 and later.

Hi Paul

According to Cossums Rising Sun book he lists the maker as Arendsen- Melbourne as being a WW2 issue in brass and 43mm high (RS132). and also lists a brass collar badge as Arendsen & Co, (RS157).

Regards

Phil.
