Inniskilling Economy dug up?

I am guessing this badge is a dug up? How else to explain the corrosion? If in good condition a rare badge, but is it recoverable?

I know there has been stacks of threads on tackling these issues, but to the extent this badge is in is it worth trying?

Dipping in white vinegar was one? Any other ideas? Many thanks Billy

Sorry but it's not WW1 economy.

The flag is facing to the right as viewed whereas the 1916 economy were facing to the left as viewed.

The slider is wrong for a genuine 1916 economy Inniskillings imo.

Probably thrown out after the owner discovered it was a repro.

The flag is flying right making it a post WW1 badge so it cannot be an all GM issue. To date every flag right Royal Inniskilling Fusuliers in GM I’ve seen has been a dud.

Thanks lads you have confirmed my suspicions also, slider isn't right never checked the flag have been using fairy luquid and toothbrush to the rear, slider isn't what I expect to see and no makers mark, green crud could well be paint? Few other bits I have noticed whilst cleaning, rim to the bottom of badge where it has been mis-struck and brickwork, would have been nice if it had all come out as a real one, other bits and pieces with it are O/K so not miffed!

Thanks for quick reply though, all the best billy
