I thought that this picture might be of interest.
It is of my grandmother's uncle, Driver Francis Bacon Hudson. He enlisted in the Warwickshire RHA in 1914 and served through the 1914-18 War. If you look closely, you can see the "T/RHA/WARWICKSHIRE" shoulder title.
My grandfather often reminded me that "Uncle Frank" was in the first Territorial Artillery Battery to go to France. I have his medals - with the 1914 Star and Bar - unusual for any Territorial unit.

I would be interested to know what the inscription is on the medals, if possible.

The inscriptions are as follows:

1914 Star: 370 DVR:F. HUDSON. R.H.A.
British War Medal: 370 DVR.F.HUDSON. R.A.
Victory Medal: 370 DVR.F.HUDSON. R.A.

Hi Phillip,
What a wonderful photo of your great uncle Frank. Thank you for sharing your family archive.
I live in Leamington Spa, i am researching the WRHA, I am also running a memorial event for WRHA on Sat Nov 10th. I live close to a park that the 1st/1st mustered on prior to leaving for France. There is a memorial to them dedicated in 1967. It is there Novembers remembrance will take place.

Can you tell me anything about Frank, where he lived etc and his time with the WRHA please?

With kind regards Gary
