Trooper in full dress uniform - Australian Commonwealth Horse - circa 1901. He would have been in either the 2nd, 4th or 8th Battalions all of which came from Western Australia.

Coronation Contingent 1902
 

This is a picture of a member of the 1902 Coronation contingent sent from Australia to England.
The uniform is the first 'Australian' pattern and showed some of the attributes of the later 1903 style.
The embellishments are green and white.
The badges were certainly 'Australian Commonwealth Horse', both cap and shoulder types were worn.

I have just noticed this same photograph on page 103 of Rick Grebert's book "The Australian Army Slouch Hat and Rising Sun Badge"

The caption reads, "Private J. B. MILLS in his Coronation Contingent uniform of 1902 (with the second pattern Rising Sun collar badge). He served with the Second Western Australian Mounted Infantry in the Boer War and was killed at Gallipoli on 31st May, 1915."
