CEF Book Project.
Larry Will, Ian Candy, Don Fair, and me have been working on a new CEF badge reference for a couple of years. We have been slowly but surely making progress on the infantry volume. This project will catalogue the known varieties of each unit's badges, and for the first time, explain the design and the significance of the design. Attached is a sample page. More details about the badges (makers, lugs and other details) are to be included in some manner. The format of the page is pre-pub and we are still thinking about the final page layout. Comments welcome.

As a newcomer to Canadian badges, I think this will sell like hot-cakes. It's just what I, as a new collector, needs. I think it will also appeal to established collectors as well; the colour pictures are excellent and so much better than line drawings.
Can't wait. Cheers, Tim |
Great stuff, Bill. If only someone would do that for British badges too.
Good seeing you at the Ottawa show last Sunday. David |
And nice to chat with you too, David. Never seems to be enough time.

Hi Bill
Excellent work. Do you need images of original marked Reesor badges to this battalion? Kind regards Dan |
Dan, if it isn't there, yes we need it.
|
Hi bill
Are sweethearts to be included? Dan |
Hi Dan, No we won't be including sweethearts. Two issues. First a space limitation. An awful lot of stuff just with the insignia. Second, sweethearts come in endless variations, and it would be nigh impossible to catalogue them all.

Hello Bill,
Excellent research work carried out by yourself, Larry Will, Ian Candy and Don Fair on the subject of CEF infantry badges. I look forward to purchasing a copy of the book when it becomes available for sale and that's from someone who's not a CEF badge collector. I noticed a slight pictorial movement on picture 4, nonetheless great pictures and text. I look forward to the completed book :) Cheers, Invest |
CEF Book Project - Picture 4
Picture 4 is a miss-strike, not movement of the badge/camera during the image taking.

Many thanks for the correct description :)

Hello,
One year down the track how goes the work on the new CEF badge reference ? Cheers, Invest |
It progresses. Images are still being harvested and processed, and the narratives are being written. Unfortunately, we can't say when things will be ready for publication. It will be months from now.

Many thanks for the update :)
