Fake printed SAS/Para wings

Be warned, these are now for sale on ebay coming out of the Nederlands, seller has both SAS & Parachute printed wings for sale

I would advise copying the image from the link for refs sake!

Although it clearly states reproduction in the description this will not stop a subsequent purchaser possibly getting stung. Surely all reproduction items should be clearly marked as such indelibly on the reverse.

Interesting, especially as they were never made as printed badges. A prototype printed wing shown to the SAS in 1944 was rejected in favour of an embroidered version.

Jon

Jon,

That prototype of the printed SAS wing does actually still exist.

I believe Keith Turner, member of this Forum, has one in his collection.

Cheers,

JW is correct. Herewith an image of my printed SAS wing.

And, before anyone asks, no I have not loaned it to anyone so it could be copied. However, I have previously shown the wing on this forum and I know at least one other exists...

I have just purchased one of the copies. I will take side-by-side comparison photographs, measurements and make the comparison data available to the forum and, hopefully, this will help prevent any fraudulent sale of the fake wing.

Keith,

Can I suggest that you dont give to much informtion away on here, as the fakers would no doubt alter the print run to match your spec.

Ok, if this is the consensus of opinion I will not post images or details.

Thanks, Keith. The copy looks pretty good to me.

Provenace

Keith,
Do you (and the other owner of a printed wing) have provenance to your wing?
Would be nice to know a story behind the wing in case we are offered similar down the line.
Regards
Jon

What evidence do you have to support this statement?
