H.P.C

Hello Troops
I have just received a H.P.C. for the Lincolnshire Regt, it is a repo as I think 95% of H.P.C. are that are on the market. I will keep it until I can locate an original. I would like to tone the finish to match the patina of the H.P. any ideas how I could do this?
Regards Terry

Yep, you need gas from house ammonia, put so ammonia in a small saucer, put the saucer in a bowl, put the badge beside the saucer in the bowl and cover the bowl with glass, and watch all the time, as it can be quick. If you dip the badge in ammonia it will clean it fast if you don’t like the colour.

Thanks for your reply Andrew, I don't want to clean the HPC it looks brand new now. Would your advice dull the finish and make it look 100 years old? Would I need to leave it out in the weather for a few weeks?
Regards Terry

Hi there, yes it will age your badge quickly, no need for the outside trick.

Many thanks Andrew. I will let you know how I get on.
