I have had a look at a trailer for this film and I think this is a totally fictitious badge being worn and it looks to be made of plastic. Cannot get a decent view of the whole badge but not real.

Jerry.

I have also tried freezing the film's frames but badge details are still indistinct.

It would be simple to research which British Army units operated in NI at the time but as the story is fictitious I suppose the unit would have to reflect this. I wonder if this would appertain to the Police also??

I concur that badge looks unreal but I would still love to see it.

I don't know whether there are legal or ethical issues involved in displaying actual unit designations and insignia in fictional war films. However, this may be belied in the film "The Wild Geese" in which the mercenaries displayed the cap badges of their diverse and previous regiments within the British Army.

Looks a large fusilier type badge with wreath around it. Regards, Paul.

Thanks, Mike. for the images. Badges look a bit oversize for wear on beret so I am thinking that they may have been purloined from a previous film as an economy measure!!

I was there in 1971 (Royal Engineers)helping to build Long Kesh Internment camp but do not have a clue what units were there that year. There were the static units and then the units on 4-6 month tours.

Derr, Sorry I misread the post.

In one clip he is shown wearing a 'Rose' Collar badge, and it seems the badge centre is the same.

Last clip is an enlargment

It appears to be Yorkshire Fusiliers, was this a made up cap badge? I cant seem to find any reference to this specific cap badge?

Very good movie in my opinion.

Some of the movie reviews say he was in the Parachute Regiment, in the movie there are no references to the Para's.
