This belonged to my Aunts husband Jack Foster he was at Vickers Armstrong Home guard he was 6ft 5 its immaculate probably because the patch was issued before the badge 9thery made them at the factory and he got it wrong and had it sewn on his hat ! Then he was issued another hat so it was never used My aunt gave it too me years ago and its been sitting in a drawer as im not really into Home guard stuff
Is their any way of getting Home guard records ? I have his medal and certificate

Very nice badge and most unusual.

A batch of the metal badges dropped onto the market in bulk several years ago, dont know if they are real or fake, but nice to see an old genuine one like yours with excellent provenence.

A lovely item - it's the provenance that "makes" it.

A very nice badge and great with the history.

Thanks for sharing the images and story of this cap - always great to have proper 'context' - no doubt it would cause a few scratched heads without the history you provide.
Mike
