Dear all,

Does any member have special attention and research to the B.A.A.G. and its founder Colonel Lindsay Ride C.B.E. ? Seriously look for the formation sign as well.

I'm interested in them as they operated in Southern China and Hong New territories and helped people escape from Hong Kong. I've a personal interest in the Battle of Hong Kong as my GF was involved in it.

Unfortunately don't have any items to them.

Dear Mike,

I do have a book which was issued by The Lisbon Maru Association of Hong Kong namely The BAAG Saga: A wartime history of the part played by Hong Kong citizens in the Second World War.

Unfortunately this book only in Chinese version.

Cheers

I have a book on the BAAG by Edwin Ride. Seems to be a decent account of their activities.

Wikipedia have articles on both the BAAG and Col Ride.

You might already have seen these but if not they might be useful.

Dear Mike,

Any chance to get one exactly the one in your Crown Imperial article ?

Regards,

Bruno

Is this last question directed at me?

I'm not aware of any Crown Imperial article.

Dear Mick,

The question was for Mike Jackson. Thanks for your information about your Grandfather. I was told the ARP badge in use in Hong Kong was stated "Hong Kong" after the ARP title.

Regards,

Bruno

I don't recall ever seeing any pictures of my grandfather wearing an ARP badge.

I suspect he just wore his normal HKP uniform.

The HKP hat badge though, is a super hard one to find these days.

HKP cap badge

Dear Mick,

Let me contact my friends see if they have a spare one, actually the shoulder title of HKP Reserve is really hard to get !

Cheers,

Bruno
