Is there anything amiss with the attached setup, please?

I would await expert opinion but can confirm - from my own limited knowledge - the headdress badge does closely reflect the example in John Rawlinson's book - on page 283, badge 879 - described as Royal Naval School of Music, large lyre pattern worn 1921 to 1936.
Hoping others will comment.

Guy's thank you very much for the help. These badges were picked up at auction and I'm just waiting for them to arrive. It was a punt as I thought the RMA was right, not sure why the second had the mods but knew the last was a restrict. BUT i could have been wrong :)

One more question I have. The second badge's 'globe and laurel', do you think it is an RMA with the flaming bomb missing?

Looking at the tip pattern of the laurels where the badge has been 'decapitated' there are two laurels rather than a single sharp point. Others will know better than me if this gives a clue to the original configuration - from what I can see in John Rawlinson's book - page 80 - RMA OR would have single laurel tip, unsure of variants though. Royal Marines Other Ranks KC - 1923-1953 - page 85 generally shows two laurels at tip. Royal Naval School of Music appears a bit mixed.

Looking at GTB's badge my badge could could have had the large lyre cut out and the small soldered on??

Does anyone know in the first place precisely WHY the need was felt for a change in size of lyre? Could it have anything to do with fitting on the headdress?
