You only live once and it’s good to see you are embracing the opportunity that has been presented to you. I find myself quite envious. Colorado is a beautiful place to be. Enjoy.

Roy, that house looks fantastic and I'd love to live in the Rockies. I hope you're happy in your new home and area. Just remember, every morning when you look out of your window how lucky you are. despite mail problems...

Hi Gents,

Many thanks indeed. We have use of the big cabin but also have a smaller place next door. It is an incredible location. I may even try my hand at 'ice' fishing!

We are hitting it right at the start of the winter, so it will be a shock. Should be some interesting wildlife too, bears, mountain lions etc. My wife is already calling dibs on my .357 revolver..

Should have some cracking photos to share once settled.

Cheerio,

Roy

Hi Mark,

Not that I know of. Grand Junction will be our nearest big town, about an hour away, I will be sure to check.

Roy

Its O.K. but it isn't Shropshire. :)

Its a whole new lifestyle - it will have many challenges but fantastic rewards. The scenery looks amazing. Enjoy it and create memories.

Thanks for all your kind words gents.

In the last throws of packing now and the moving truck is booked, picked it up on Sunday for a Monday move.

Still having problems sorting the internet out but fingers crossed.

Will be sad to leave northern New Mexico but a new adventure awaits...

Missing all my free time for projects, this packing lark is like a full time job:(

Roy

Hi Gents,

I'm pleased to say we have arrived safely at our new mountain home (pic attached). We are on the western slope of the Rockies in Colorado 8,200 feet up next to a lake.

We just got internet hooked up. Having to go back to a landline telephone as really no cell signal way up here. No post either, so have to have a PO box in the tiny post office in the near by one street town.

Really looking forward to getting some recent button purchases delivered over the coming weeks.

Cheerio,

Roy

Great to hear Roy! Hope you’re settling in well, I’m sure you’ll be very happy there.

Looks cold, glad to see you’ve lots of firewood ready to go!

Cheers,
Luke

P.S. if you find an old beat up F&S up there remember me ;)

Thanks for that Luke,

Yes it's a little 'fresh' up here but sunny with stunning views too. I'm sure it will get a lot colder but we are finding the wood burner is doing a grand job of keeping us all cozy and Lilli has found here spot in the morning sun next to the fire.

I do have some F-S knives coming in shortly, not sure what they are but fingers crossed. I still have a few more SOE items to list when I get them unpacked.

Now we are settled I can finally have a small collection of buttons I have been buying sent over, so really excited about that. It gets dark here really early so I anticipate very long winter evenings, just perfect for inspecting and organizing my button collection..:)

Cheerio,

Roy

Looks great Roy, enjoy yourself.
Ps. This Country is getting worse, don't rush back.

Thanks Andy,

It would be challenging to come back as my passport ran out years ago..

Although a little fresh outside (like Brit weather) I took a short ride and took this pic, our new place is pointed out by the arrow.

Cheerio,

Roy

I'm sure you'll never have to worry about traffic Roy!
Enjoy the solitude. Does wonders for the soul, though I guess badges would come a close second.
Cheers!
Sunil
