Specialist Group Military Intelligence (SGMI). An extract from an article in the recently published 2017 Int Corps journal ("The Rose and the Laurel"): "Finally our thanks must go to the xxxxxx for the loan of funds to help the General Service Corps (GSC) Specialist Reserve Officers (SRO) to purchase the newly designed GSC stable belts and TRFs. Intelligence officers have long been associated with the GSC with many of the Int Corps' first officers wearing the General List cap badge of the Royal Coat of Arms during the First World War. The same cap badge was adopted by the GSC and was worn throughout the Second World War by officers delivering specialist support in a variety of guises, be it with SOE, as scientific specialists or in civil affairs units."

Has anyone seen the GSC TRF? Mike

No, but the TRF for the General Service Regiment was described so I drew one.

GSC stable belt
 

Has anyone seen the stable belt? If so, does it conform to the pattern and colours shown by Marc’s drawing?

The illustration I produced is for the authorised TRF for the General Service REGIMENT, not Corps. I have not seen any official indication that the GSC are to get a TRF, however it is possible that the Army Dress Committee have their Regiment and Corps mixed up.

Thanks Marc for emphasising the distinction. Mike’s original post mentions the GS Corps. For a brief period I wore the General List bullion beret badge (coat of arms version) pending permanant transfer into the Int Corps and I’m just curious as to whether there is an official stable belt. I could find no reference to one in 2006 but was luckily I serving in a tri-service unit, so could wear the Combined Ops one. I did ascertain that the GSC rank pips backing was infantry red but information was very difficult to find, even within the Army!

I have never come across a General Service Corps stable belt or mention of one in any of the Dress Regulations.
