NZ Machine Gun Specialists Signallers

G'day All,
I have a question about the colours of the New Zealand machine gun corps.
Perhaps the Signallers colourers were blue and white? But what were the colours of the Machine Gun Corps? Sorry should have added Specialists.

Phil.

Hi Phil,
Distinguishing colours for the 1st NZEF New Zealand Machine Gun Corps are as follows.—
No.1 Company —yellow on black
No.2 Company —grey on black
No.3 Company —green on black
No.4 Company —black on red
No.5 Company —red on black
HQ Company —blue on black
NZ Machine Gun Squadron — red and black

In regards to colours allotted to the New Zealand Reinforcements, each company from A to J were allotted a distinguishing colour, the Engineers were allotted yellow and black and the Artillery were red and blue.
However it should be understood that only the Maori Battalion (red and black) and the NZRB (black) wore their distinguishing colours on their uniforms, the rest would have their company colours painted on their kit bags.

The NZ Reinforcement Signal Section and Machine gun Sections of the Specialist Company as far as I am aware were not allotted any colours, instead they were recognised by their crossed flags and machine gun qualification badges.

Thanks very much for that information, it is much clearer now, very informative.
Thanks again.
Phil.
