Pegasus Bridge souvenir medallion fob

Despite much searching of the internet I cannot find any information about this medallion. It clearly has a link with the Pegasus Bridge Museum at Benouville. I suspect that it was a souvenir item sold to tourists or perhaps given to returning veterans. The fitting is strange. Was it made to wear in a buttonhole or is something missing?

This item may be offered for sale.

The reverse reads [roughly] 'Airborne Troops Museum', so souvenir seems likely. Odd fixing indeed - meant to go through a buttonhole?

Thank you Peter, I was able to work out the translation which indicates the source of the medallion rather than whether it was sold by, or, presented by them.

Because there is no specific date on the medallion, I suspect that it was not made for a one off presentation such as the 50th anniversary. I am guessing that it was something that you could buy but it would be nice to think that returning Airborne Veterans were given one.

Never having been to the Museum it would be good to know from anyone who has visited if they have seen these offered for sale.

The fixing looks like an old fashioned keyring minus the ring.

I think you've got it, the one with the little lever and notch at the other end of the loop, its a key ring.

That's exactly what I was thinking about.

Does anybody know that collecting is a psychological disease?? I was really shocked when my sister's psychologist had said that she was ill. Her whole life she was collecting different cute and amazing things. My favorite one is the biggest collection of delightful bobbleheads, she even has the rarest of them. The previous year i've made her a special present - a family of personalized bobbleheads with our family members faces. By the way if you are thinking about this https://myfacebobbleheads.com/collections/wedding you can find some interesting ideas.

Sorry Milly,

I moved it on some time ago.
