7th Gurkha WW2 officers job lot

I purchased this lot - and there are some interesting items amongst them. The whole belong to Lt Peter Smith 2/7GR - his was a wartime commission having joined as a private in the East Yorks and then being sent to OTS in Bangalore India - before joining the 2/7th. - It includes his 3 medals ( unnamed ) , a nice alloy handled kukri - with name etched on the handle ( alloy handles were peculiar to the 7G and 8G - a Gurkha "chapatti" beret (dated 1945) with badge ( backing plate also etched with name ) - other Gurkha insignia ( badge. buttons, shoulder titles ) - together with his service records , letters of discharge etc.
I bought the lot because of the "7" on a green felt patch - I'd never seen it's like before - having consulted with Ashok he thinks it might have to do with his later service in the RIASC "Could it have been an AT or MY unit of the RIASC they usually wore numbers on their bush hats, apart from the standard RIASC badge".
I might be moving the lot on again, either as a group or in separate lots ( although I'd prefer to keep them together ) - let me know if you have any interest - Cheers Tim
