This is for anyone, but maybe our aussie collectors can answer this question as what is it and is it Military in the sense of being a mourning badge as it's is all black with dark purple/mauve ribbons??

Pretty awful photos mate !

Maybe its the rosette worn by servicemen whilst on leave in UK during WW1.

BTW the photos are ok ?? Whats wrong with them ?? But I have done a couple more for you and it is not a rosette as in the new photo the rosette is on the left .:p

Thanks for the reply and yes I am with you on this ,but is this a general type of ribbon used for all bereavements or say for a Royal family member ??
