South african collection for sale
 

hi all
a friend of mine is wanting to sell a large collection of south african badges. most of them are pre WW1 with many hlmet plates and badges from the boer war.
he was thinking of puting it through Bosleys, but has asked me if i want any first and therefore, am offering these also to the forum.
i dont have any pics or a list but if anyone is interested in particular badges please PM me and i will follow up for you.
i have a some being posted to me so when they arrive i will post a few pics

It might be a SA collection - which is not really my area - but are there any "brit" badges in the collection?

I think that you will find that there are quite a few keen South African badge collectors, mostly in South Africa as people generally collect "in their own backyard" . In South Africa the collectors are rather wary of Brit badges because they have been so extensively faked. Lets have your list and we'll arm-wrestle for the good pieces.

Hi,
Nice Boer Republic badges. Apart from the odd spear tip missing, they look good. I'm very interested to see what else there is. Will you be pricing them or is it subject to a bidding process ?
I am particularly interested in badges from the 1902 - 1913 period.
