1st Punjab Regiment cloth titles

During the course of time I have managed to put together a small collection of 1st Punjab regiment WW 2 cloth titles. The slightly flared shape of the sign seems to suggest that it should be stitched at the base of the epaulette strap, but on a BD blouse I have recently purchased to my surprise is sewn to the upper part of the sleeve. Other titles are bazar made tubular slip ons and the 1945-1947 cloth arc titles.

Interesting material used in it! And quite large too. I wonder if the the major wore it on his sleeve so there was room for his crown on the epaulette?

Didn't think about it, but you're quite right. On South African BD blouses divisional signs were usually worn on epaulettes slip ons, but not by officers, that had them stitched on the sleeve in order to leave room for pips and crowns.
