Blue Army Berets from 1941?
 

The records of the Ministry of Supply held at Kew contain an entry dated 2nd September 1941 which reads

Commands informed that a special beret (Berets, Blue, Allied Forces) has been introduced and is available for issue to Polish tank units.

This suggests that WO marked blue berets dated 1941 - and possibly later - did exist. The issue of blue berets to the British Army did not begin until 1950,

Does anyone have an example dated 1941 or thereabouts?
