A long shot, but does any Forum member have or have access to this very interesting identification book publish by the French Army (G2) in April 1945.The few signs illustrated are very interesting and appear to have been taken from vehicles and sign boards. I would be delighted to hear that it has been re-printed! Mike

Hi Mike,

I don't have this booklet, but there was a little book published by Almark Publications called 'Wehrmacht Divisional Signs', by Theodor Hartmann. It could well be that he had a copy of the French booklet as reference for his work? Either way the Hartmann book is a useful little guide for those with an interest in such matters.

Are you looking for a specific sign?

Yes - from Militaria. I believe the writer of the article from which this image was taken is a retired officer of the French Army. He wrote a two piece article on this subject - Identification documents covering German Army etc uniforms and insignia. If you could ask a French forum I should be most grateful. Mike
