Pembroke yeomanry OSD collar
4 Attachment(s)
Picked up a single osd collar for the Pembroke yeomanry, it is smaller than the example I already owned and has a flat back, compared to the other which is hollow. Also, the new one (N-S lugs) is of much better quality and has a different scroll, the old one (E-W lugs) is poorly cast with long scroll ends.
Any thoughts or comments on originality and dating would be appreciated. |
Afternoon Jerry,
I have to say that I much prefer the example you have just picked up! Regards Frank |
Frank,
As do I. |
Jerry.
What I know is the second collar (right hand one) was definitely worn in 1917-18. Ta Jonathan |

I recently picked up a pair of Pembroke Yeomanry OSD collar badges with hollow backs to the feathers in mint condition. They look a different pattern with this type of casting to those shown in this thread, cheers Dean.

Both patterns were worn WW1 period, the longer scrolls being the earlier pattern.

Thanks Jerry,
From the front they are but your short scroll ones appear completely flat backed to me and these are only partially so with indents beyond the feathers. Your longer scroll ones appear to have deep hollows. Not an eureka moment but thought they might be of interest, cheers Dean |
