This unknown man with unknown badge..I have a feeling it is Imperial Yeomanry of the Boer war period but so far cannot find it

First Australian Horse, 1896 to 1903 when it became the 3rd ALH. One of the three NSW Light Horse regiments. Yes, worn at the Boer War in black oxidised.
