Unknown Civil Defence/WVS Items

2 Attachment(s)
In a recently purchased lot of WW2 era Civil Defence/WVS items were several pieces I could not identify. Can someone kindly tell me about the printed WVS disc? The small rectangle may just be a clothing label of some kind, but thought I should ask. Finally the ribbon arrangement seems to be in Civil Defence colors, but what does it represent?

Hello dobw, The square cloth with W.V.S. seems to be a printed patch that would be cut out around the broken lines and folded to round shape then sewn onto the item of uniform. Which one I do not know. This was a economy measure.
The other 2 items I cannot help with.

p.s. If you want to pass it on I would be interested.

The ribbon is a cut down ribbon band from the CD felt hat

Two suggestions , it was possibly from a "shared" uniform :
Quote:

Representations had been made that “workers at Rest Centres, British Restaurants, canteens etc. would find it convenient to have a supply of overalls which "could be used by workers on the shifts and not be treated as individual issues.” Although described as ‘loan overalls’ it was in fact a part ownership scheme, where three members were invited to contribute one coupon and one third of the cost.
Or else from a "sample" uniform :

As a remedy to this Headquarters opened the “Trying-on-room” on Tuesday 6th April 1943 located in the WVS Shop at 26 Broadway. It stocked a sample of every size of each item of uniform so that members could try items on before ordering.

Many thanks to Jerry, London, and Mike for the fascinating information! Does anyone know how the round WVS badge was worn?
