This....

Unfortunately not just the UK. We are rapidly sinking in a mire of crap. :(I could not possibly agree more with Prince Charles's estimation of modern British architecture as well.

Certainly seems to be an issue with modern artists working in bronze.

Obviously there’s ‘artistic license’ but when you struggle to identify who the bronze is of that’s surely crossed the line to just plain old not very good.

I’ve lost count of the number of bronze statues or busts I’ve seen in the last decade or two where they do not look much, if at all, like the subject.

Not to worry though, sure it won't be long before someone finds it offensive and it gets toppled over.

Simon.

An excerpt from a review in "The Grauniad" (which also mentions one of the sculptor's other
works, "Lord Rochester, His Whore and a Monkey" - that alone makes him top man I'd choose were I ever to commission a statue of my mother).

"Are we sure Charles had no hand here? It looks like his insipid artistic taste. Flat, cautious realism softened by a vague attempt to be intimate make this a spiritless and characterless hunk of nonsense".

Im surprised William and Harry didn't shout out " who the fcuk is that supposed to be ". Looks more like Faceman from the A Team.....shocking artwork. And I bet it wasn't cheap either.

Absolutely hilarious... hideous even.

The bronze one isn't much cop either.
