The Largest Cap Badge
2 Attachment(s)
Don't know if this has been covered previously, but just as a bit of fun...
Which unit of the British Army had the largest cap badge? - HPs obviously not included :D I have read that it was the City of London (Rough Riders) KK1359/KK1360, which measures about H = 57mm x W = 45mm, but do not know if this is correct. Attachment 79992 Some Scottish units have big ol' badges too; the London Scottish, being approx H = 49mm x W = 53mm (KK1840/KK1841) Attachment 79993 Are there bigger? Regadrs, Peter |
I suppose this now begs the question of who had the smallest!!!

Hello mate :)
I think the A&SH cap badge is the biggest. Could be wrong though. Andy |

A&SH, Black Watch, KOSB, Inns of Court officers and RSR spring to mind. And ATS if you allow badge plus backing.
The widest badge I imagine is the unofficial one worn by airborne tank crew. |
Smallest cap badge
I think the enamelled dogs paw worn by dog handlers is probably the smallest cap badge I have seen.

It measures 80mm by 62mm approx.
So I guess mine is bigger than yours :p |
Then if you add a scroll for say the 8th A&SH it measures 89mm by 62mm approx.
And I've got loads of them  |
