Pre WW1 badges to Cape mounted Rifles & Cape Field Artillery
I`m looking for photos of the Cape Mounted Rifles ( South African War (1899 - 1902) and Cape Field Artillery ( post South African War). I have just purchased a QSA medal to a #3121 Pte. J H Coetzee who served in the Cape Mounted Rifles (5 years) and then Cape Field Artillery( 3 years). He then immigrated to Canada and joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and served with the Patricia's until he was killed in the town of Ypres, 9 May 1915.

The military castle museum in Cape Town has a complete history of the CMR and CFA including books photos uniforms. I have just finished doing some restoration work on a CMR officers pouch belt and plate for them.If you like I can put you in touch. Just out of interest what bars does your QSA have.

I agree, with a bit of luck, you should get some good info from the museum.
