Good day Bill,

With the exception of (going l. to r. and top row to bottom) #'s 5 and 8, which are Pre-Unification (before 1968), the remainder of your badges are Post-Uni., that is after 1968. As a rule, the dark green with gold letter titles were worn on the Service Dress jacket (mid/late '70's to mid '80's). The coloured ones were worn on the Garrison Dress jacket (approx. late '90's. Jacket was only worn for a short period of time before being pulled).

#1 is for the original Regiment de Chateauguay, which was amalgamated with the Royal 22e Regiment in 1954 to become the Van Doos' fourth battalion. #4 is for the original Regiment de St-Hyacinthe, which was amalgamated with the Van Doos in 1966 to its sixth battalion. Also, the four R22eR shoulder badges were worn on the obsolete Work Dress jacket as well as on the Garrison Dress jacket

#5 looks to be from the '60's, while #8 appears to be from the late '50's/early '60's (my opinion). Others with better knowledge may correct me.

Hope this is of some help.

Ian B
