Mick,

What would the occasion be that they're marching with the Guidon but without arms? Church parade?

Cheers,
Dan.

Not sure - this was from their Facebook page yet it didn't mention the occasion (or at least I couldn't find it).

The Leyland Lion.

For anyone like me, with a great interest in real British buses, that's a great name for a pub.:)

Did anyone pick up that the Officer far left in the 1st image isnt a Kings Royal Hussar ?

GriffMJ 23-07-18 09:51 AM

Real shame that there is not at least one mounted Officer.

Bronzed buttons - Royal regiment cap - dark shirt and tie.
Could be an officer from the Royal Welsh recently transferred - got the crimson trousers!

I think that they might be brown leather buttons and a regimental tradition inherited from one of the forebear regiments, now worn only on SD by officers of field rank. As he’s leading the parade I imagine that he’s the CO. I recall reading about a between Wars cavalry regiment having the tradition of wearing such buttons but I can’t remember which it was.
