a name for this one
 

I see my thread didn't appear as such,So here it is again,I need identification for this one. a sunburst 2 1/2" in diameter with a 1 1/16" obtuse center the whole badge being brass I believe with 5 short tangs on the back, Irish maybe? Ray

Certainly looks Irish in origin...

Is it possibly missing an overlay?

There is no indication of there ever being an overlay on this badge the center of the dome is slightly flattened like it might be a litle damage but smooth & no sign of brazing or silver solder.
I've seen one if I remember right where there was an overlay. Thanks Adam for your opinion, anyone else out there with an opinion or a fact. Ray
