opinion on this non voided Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders

Hello,
May I ask your opinion about this non voided Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders cap badge.
This badge was purchased in 1997 from a badge dealer in Derby.
Thank you.

Thanks for your input.
What about the badge strike ? I have doubts about its authenticity...

The original Victorian badges had the cat's tail raised.

There were a further 2 sealed patterns until the fourth one which has the tail down and the pierced front.

There were a further 2 versions: WW2 plastic and the a/a.

Interesting - can fat cats, thin cats, cats facing their front, facing their left, the bare stemmed crossed thistles at base of badge, overlapping leaf at base of badge also be dated?

Looks like it has footed lugs so that would raise question marks for me.
Cheers,
Alex

Thank you Luke ! According to the die flaw on the first L of ARGYLL, it's seems to be a reproduction....
All the best.
