Nova Scotia cloth title

Ive had this for ages, looks old and always wondered if it might be ww1, anyway my question who wore it.

The blue on khaki titles are a bit of a mystery. These were likely made by Hemsley's in both Canada and the UK. They are explained in three ways. 1. They were for the regional recruit depots formed circa 1917. 2. They were private purchase for one of the many battalions recruited in the geographic areas. 3. They were private purchase and worn on the Canadian Corps battalion the recruit was sent to. There is evidence that some of the 25th Bn CEF wore the title.

Thanks for that Bill, I had been wandering if it had been worn as a nationality title like Newfoundland, but then that doesn't make sense as Nova Scotia had joined the confederation in 1800's...I think.

There are a large number of these type of titles from the First WW. They were named to cities, provinces or areas of Canada. Eg, VANCOUVER, NEW ONTARIO, MUSKOKA, QUEBEC, TORONTO, WINNIPEG etc etc.
And you are correct, Nova Scotia was one of the original four colonies to form the first provinces of Canada in 1867.
